"Gun control gone wrong"

Soldier Shot, Killed While Teaching Wife Gun Safety

OLYMPIA — A Fort Lewis soldier is dead after being accidentally shot in the head and killed by his wife in Olympiam the Thurston County Sheriff's Office says." [Source- Seattle Times]

This woman "claims" her husband, a Fort Lewis soldier who probably has a somewhat extensive background in gun usage, was accidentally shot while trying to teach her how to correctly use a gun. Apparently he decided to teach her how to shoot around 1:30 in the morning and she was holding it when she unintentionally shot him right between the eyes.

Um. What?

I've heard of some freak, ironic accidents and I'm a big fan of the series Dead Like Me because of its malicious humor but come on now. Who is she trying to fool here? As of right now authorities have not named her as a suspect but with the investigation pending I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Then again, everyone's innocent until proven guilty - so what do I know?

I'm just sayin'. . .

"Catch a falling lover"

Man dies trying to catch suicidal girlfriend as she jumps from 7th floor

I understand the intent, I do, but come on, Wang. . .
A Chinese man was killed last week after trying to catch his suicidal girlfriend as she jumped from the seventh floor of their Quanzhou apartment building in south-eastern China.

The young man, only identified as Wang, tried to break the woman’s fall by holding out his arms, witnesses said. He was killed by the impact of her body landing on top of him, according to Perth Now.

His girlfriend survived the fall, suffering only from bone fractures and other injuries. She was not in critical condition and expected to make a full recovery." [Source]

I know it happened in China, but I could definitely see someone exercising this type of nonsensical behavior here in the US. I always side with the victim, so I'm furious at the fact that the suicidal girlfriend is expected to make a full recovery while Wang is six-feet-under for being her human fall breaker. Ain't that about a b*tch?

I'm sure now more than ever that she's ready to make a second attempt at that jump.

What would you do if you saw someone you loved hurdling towards the sidewalk? I'll be honest -- I'd probably have a panic attack and start crying on the spot. Even with a hysterical flowing of tears I'd still know I can't catch them and live. Not even a little bit.

Follow-up: "Cruelty to Elders."

Lady who got caught exercising husband to death finally getting sentenced!

Last month in Middlefield, Ohio I mentioned this 40 y/o transgendered woman trying to kill her 70-something-year-old husband by having him swim lap after lap in the pool for no particular reason. Now they believe that she was doing it so she could get his retirement benefits [of course].

Police say she forced James Mason, who had heart disease, to do stressful activity in an indoor pool for more than two hours. He collapsed and died the next day after Chris Mason authorized his removal from life support.

She is to be sentenced Friday and could get up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to reckless homicide."

Foxnews recently mentioned that after interviewing family members, their relationship didn't even seem to be romantic. From the history provided in the article I'm going to have to agree that they weren't exactly a match made in heaven.

The whole story is just kind of, well. . .cooky. For lack of a better word. Not that I don't cover other unusual stories, but this one just doesn't seem to be sitting well with me.

"Survival of the fittest"

Recession spreads overseas causing man to eliminate concubines!

BEIJING, China (CNN) — A married Chinese businessman who could no longer afford five mistresses held a competition to decide which one to keep.

But the contest took a fatal turn when one of the women, eliminated for her looks, drove the man and the four other competitors off a cliff, Chinese media reported.

The spurned mistress died and the other passengers were injured, the reports said."

I love how the mistress died while the main targets only got a couple of boo-boos (or not, still. . .they're alive). I guess she didn't work out her exit strategy very well.

This married businessman realized after looking in his bank account that having five relationships was just getting a little bit too costly now because of the way the worldwide economy is suffering. So how does he choose which mistress to keep? Why, a beauty pageant of course. What he didn't do was cover all the bases like what happens when one of these side girls takes her elimination the wrong way and tries to kill everybody.

Then, of course, after it's all over and they all leave the ER his wife and the remaining side joints leave him.

Pimpin ain't easy.

"Cruelty to Elders"

Ohio Transgendered woman excersizes husband to death

CHARDON, Ohio — An Ohio transgender woman has pleaded guilty to reckless homicide for exercising her 73-year-old husband to death in an apartment complex swimming pool.

Now you know why this is news-worthy, right? Because s/he's transgendered. Duh.

This is my way of saying Happy-freakin-Valentine's Day to you and yours. The lovely thing about this story is that she's actually pleading guilty, which is refreshing, considering I don't know of many people who would admit to trying to kill their spouse through something that appears was intended to help them.

Middlefield police say surveillance video shows 41-year-old Christine Newton-John pulling James Mason around the pool by his arms and legs and preventing him from leaving. [Source]
Oh. . .I didn't read that part =\ off to jail you go, Ms. Newton-John.
I don't know about you but I personally can't wait to see the plethora of true V-day stories gone wrong that are bound to show up this weekend. It makes being single more than worth it, doesn't it?
